First Gold Medals of the EYOF

Pat Hickey in his capacity as President of European Olympic Committees presented the Gold medal winner from Sweden – Sofia Henriksson with her medal in Cross Country ski classic race for 7.5 km.  The Swedish champion proudly sang the national anthem.   There was a large fireworks display to honour the first winnter of the EYOWF 2011.   Pat Hickey said “the atmosphere was truly amazing and a great start to the Games”
