Team Ireland Village Welcome

Members of Team Ireland along with Russian, Korean athletes attended a very colourful welcome ceremony by Mayor of the day Duncan Goodhew.

Many Irish athletes were in training mode at various venues , but a few were able to fit the ceremony into their dialy routine.

Irish and European Olympic President Pat Hickey, Chef de Mission Sonia O’Sullivan, Deputy Chef de Mission,  Irish Ambassador Bobby McDonagh and performance suppport personnel from Boxing, Canoeing, Equestrian , and Shooting attended. There was a huge media presence and LOCOG must be congratulated for the athlete friendly welome ever .

This evening Badminton and Swimming athletes returned to the village again following training at external venues over the past 4 days.
