Peter O’Leary and David Burrows are in 10th overall in the Star keelboat, while their rivals for the Irish selection trials, Max Treacy and Anthony Shanks lie in 36th place after 3 races.

Yesterday 49ers Ben Lynch and Ed Butler  scored a fourth and fifth place.

The Carlow/Dun Laoghaire duo’s performance has reignited the trials in this discipline, as Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern had a 10th and broke a trapeze wire forcing them to abandon the second race of the day.

Analise Murphy is in 15th place after 4 races.

The Sail for Gold event is an opportunity for over 1000 sailors, 740 boats from 57 Nations and in 10 Olympic classes to compete on the 2012 Olympic venue.

The main 2011 test event will take place in August in Weymouth.
