Introduction to Modern Pentathlon
The combination of five completely different sports constitutes Modern Pentathlon, the most demanding sport of the Olympic Games. Pentathletes compete in the course of one day, in the following five disciplines: Shooting, Fencing, Swimming, Riding, and Cross-country running. Modern Pentathlon men and women athletes need to have strength, endurance, quick reflexes and concentration, in order to meet the high demands of the sport. Hungarian Indoor Championships 5th & 6th February 2011
The Irish trio of Natalya Coyle, Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe and Eanna Bailey showed some excellent form at the Hungarian Indoor Championships this weekend. Natalya finished 5th in the women’s competition while Arthur was 11th and Eanna 19th in the Men’s event.

Modern Pentathlon format changes for London
The format of the Modern Pentathlon is to be changed for London 2012 after the sport's governing body voted to combine the disciplines of shooting and running into one event.
