Irish Bobsleigh Team will compete on World Cup Series

Irish Bobsleigh officials and the Olympic Council of Ireland lobbied the International Bobsleigh Federation to ensure Ireland, as the 1st ranked single sled nation could be upgraded from the Europa Cup series, after the French nos. 2 crew withdrew from the World Cup series.

The Irish team will start their World Cup campaign in Cesana, Italy ( 30th November -6th December 09)

Note: The Irish Bobsleigh Team are supported by the provision of Olympic Council  athlete scholarships and through the purchase of a 2010 Bobsleigh for their qualification campaign.
