History of the OCI

Hunt is delighted to have been chosen to write the History of the Olympic Council of Ireland.

A teacher from Mullingar, Co Westmeath, Hunt holds a doctorate in sports history from de Montfort University in Leicester.

OCI Secretary General Dermot Sherlock and Hunt officially signed a contract for this publication at last nights OCI AGM at AVIVA Stadium.

It is expected that Dr Hunt will complete the work by the autumn of 2012.

The publication will give an insight to Ireland’s participation in the Games, its role within Irish sport, and feature key characters and events throughout its history.
