Pat Hickey

The mission of the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) is to develop and protect the Olympic Movement on the island of Ireland, in accordance with the International Olympic Committee’s guiding document – the Olympic Charter.

The OCI is a fully autonomous organisation, independent of governmental or commercial influence, and is the representative body for all Olympic national sports federations in Ireland.

The Council’s work also represents the voluntary efforts of its democratically elected Executive Committee, combined with input from its professional headquarters staff.

The OCI works to encourage the development of high performance sport and is committed to taking action against discrimination of any kind in sport and to playing its part in the fight against drugs in sport.

Visitors to our website will find lots of important information about the OCI, our Olympic sports and our Olympic athletes, past and present.

I hope you enjoy the experience.

Yours in sport

PAT HICKEY

President, Olympic Council of Ireland,

President of the European Olympic Committees and Member of the International Olympic Committee.
